Video of Apollo 11 moon landing, refurbished
It was supposed to be a “giant step for mankind” when US Astronaut Neil Armstrong walked on the moon on July 20, 1969. Unfortunately, the only video to record that milestone of an event was erased by NASA.
Fortunately, Hollywood came to the rescue and the video footage of man landing on the moon was revived.
From the same studio wizards who restored “Casablanca,” the video of the Apollo 11 and Armstrong on the moon was even digitally sharpened, cleaning up the ghostly and grainy footage of the moon landing, making it even better than what the was viewed on TV 40 years ago.
The reproduction of the video was done from four copies that NASA scrounged from around the globe.
NASA senior engineer Dick Nafzger, who is in charge of the project said, “There’s nothing being created; there’s nothing being manufactured. You can now see the detail that’s coming out.”
The refurbishing effort costs $230,000 and is only 40 percent finished at present. The first batch of restored footage was released just in time for the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing.
I was so small when this happened.

Hi, Roy. That’s a good thing they did. That’s puzzling though – for something as momentous as the moon landing they’ve lost their own copy? NASA didn’t know then the value of back ups? ahahaha. Good thing, they had restored it.
Incidentally, did you hear about those awful conspiracy theories about the landing on the moon and how it was faked and all that? Wala lang, naala ko lang gawa ng post mo. Meron lang talagang mga taong plain as day ang facts nagko concoct pa rin ng mga conspiracy theories na ganun.
I will not say how big I was when this happened. Suffice it to say, I was tad bigger than you were then. Ahahaha. Take note that I said “tad.” Ang mag-oobject pumunta sa Supreme Court. Bahala kayo sa buhay ninyo. lols

yes, I’ve heard about that news Jan. My wife told me about it, and the argument was even said to be convincing… very convincing.
but I still would like to believe that it really happened.
and the ‘tad’ quote… at least you said you’re older
