The Conficker Eye Chart

Well, the April Fool’s Day passed without any much buzz on the effect of the April Fool’s day virus, although there were reports of manifestations, but not in the magnitude that it was expected to be. Yeah, kind of reminds of the millenium bug, isn’t it?

But experts are not being complacent, as the manifestation might not be evident, there are indications that the conficker worm indeed activated itself on April 1. And here is one tool I found on Yahoo buzz, to determine whether your computer has indeed been infected by the worm — presenting the Conficker Eye Chart!

Conficker Eye Chart

Starting with describing how the Conficker Chart works, the article said that the chart is real and not a “sham designed to give you a false sense of security” and neither it is “yet another delivery mechanism for the Conficker worm.”

But you don’t actually use the chart here, you need to go to the original source of the Conficker chart and see how the chart shows in your screen.

If you see all the images in the chart complete, good for you! Your PC is completely clean! (thanks heavens, I’m clean! ;) )

But if your screen shows missing images – aha! sound the alarm! Better yet, scroll down the screen then, to see what could be wrong with your computer. Unfortunately though, the site doesn’t explain what to do in such cases.

For better understanding of why some images show and some doesn’t, read the explanation on the yahoo tech here.

For now, I’m just happy that my PC is clean… I hope.
