The tiniest things matter

Just a quick post to remind all of us that today is Earth Day, a day where we are reminded to do our part in saving our one and only planet.

No contribution is too small that won’t count, each of us has a part to play. We can save the Earth, for the sake of our children and the future generation.

The Conficker Eye Chart

Well, the April Fool’s Day passed without any much buzz on the effect of the April Fool’s day virus, although there were reports of manifestations, but not in the magnitude that it was expected to be. Yeah, kind of reminds of the millenium bug, isn’t it?

But experts are not being complacent, as the manifestation might not be evident, there are indications that the conficker worm indeed activated itself on April 1. And here is one tool I found on Yahoo buzz, to determine whether your computer has indeed been infected by the worm — presenting the Conficker Eye Chart!

Woman catches thieves with the help of webcam

Jeanne Thomas’s husband thought she was nuts for installing a $250 webcam system in their home. Even telling her that she would never catch anyone with it. But it proves to be wise investment, as she was able to catch thieves with of help of webcam.

She was at her work when she decided to check her home through the security camera she installed. She was surprised as she watches thieves invade her house.

After Twitter, it’s now Facebook’s turn to save a life

We heard recently of how Twitter was instrumental in saving a life, this time, it’s Facebook’s turn to save a life.

The story of how Facebook saves teenager’s life doesn’t differ from the case of Twitter saving a life, except that there’s no celebrity involved here.

Typical actually, a British teenager took drug overdose, and was saved by his Facebook friend to whom he was chatting with on the online social network when he raised the alarm.

“Your car is welcome… but your camera is not!”

Google Street View Car

If you see a car like the one above snooping around your neighborhood, and you realized that the at the of the pole attached to it is actually a camera, and it’s taking pictures of everything it sees – including your house… how would you feel?

If you said, uncomfortable, then I guess you must have felt what the residents of Buckinghamshire felt that caused them to challenge the Google camera.
