Cool iPhone app from a 9-year old genius!

Lim Ding Wen

While here I am wracking my brains in trying to understand the HTML codes in my blogs so I can make them appear and behave the way I want to, a nine-year old boy is writing code for iPhone!

This boy genius from Singapore has written a finger-painting program which he called Doodle Kids. Lim Ding Wen wrote the program for his two younger sisters aged 3 and 5 who both love to draw.

Don’t be amused yet, until you hear this. Lim is fluent in six programming languages! At the age of 2, he was already using the computer, at 7 he became interested in programming, and to date, he has written 20 programming projects.

At 9, I don’t recall handling any technical gadgets. (Of course, there weren’t computers then yet)

Lim’s Doodle Kids allows iPhone owner to draw images on the handset’s touch screen using just their fingers. The programs has reached more than 4,000 downloads from Apple’s iTunes store in less than two weeks.

And his next project? A sci-fi game for iPhone called Invader Wars.

“Doodle Kids is an extremely simple program that can be done by anybody. Everybody can program – if Ding Wen can, so can you,” said Lim’s father, Lim Thye Chean

Yeah right!
